Bio
Ahmed Atef Gaafary is an Egyptian visual artist who lives and works in Cairo. He graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University and studied Fine Arts in the evening classes at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Zamalek. He has exhibited his work in over 150 group exhibitions in Egypt and in various countries including Germany, Brazil, Italy, Morocco, Lebanon, the United States, London, Norway, and Dubai. In Egypt, his exhibitions have included the Alexandria Library, the Palace of Arts, the Citadel of Salah al-Din, and the Citadel of Qaitbay. He has also exhibited in galleries such as Gallery Safar Khan, Gallery Al-Asima, Gallery Ibdar, Gallery Funoon, Gallery Gojan, and Gallery Nile. He has held approximately nine solo exhibitions, including at the Attejah Hall in the Palace of Arts at the Cairo Opera House, the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, Gallery Safar Khan, and Gallery Al-Asima. He also participated in the Cairo Art Fair from the first to the third editions. He exhibited his works at the Trio Biennale in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the Oslo Short Film Festival in Norway. His paintings have been displayed at Christie’s auction houses in London and Dubai.
